  • Heart valve repair and replacement
Minimally Invasive Coronary Artery Surgery (MICAS)
  • MICAS Valve Replacement Surgery
  • Surgery for congenital heart defects
Post-Surgical Care:
  • State of the art Intensive Care Unit (ICU) services.
  • Advanced rehabilitation and followup care.
Advanced Facilities & Equipment:

Our department is equipped with the latest technology and advanced surgical tools, including:

Achievements & Highlights:

Our department has successfully performed over 3375 open heart surgeries, including awake Bypass Surgery/Redo and minimally invasive procedures. We strive for excellence in patient care and outcomes.

At our hospital, CABG is usually performed using arterial grafts, particularly the Left Internal Mammary Artery (LIMA) and Right Internal Mammary Artery (RIMA), which is the gold-standard method due to their superior long-term patency rates compared to vein grafts.

FAQs

CABG (Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting) is a surgical procedure to improve blood flow to the heart by bypassing blocked arteries using advanced grafting techniques.

Total Arterial Graft Bypass Surgery is a type of coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) in which only arteries (instead of veins) are used to bypass blocked or narrowed coronary arteries and restore blood flow to the heart muscle.

A surgical technique using small incisions, specialized instruments, and often, a camera to minimize tissue damage and promote faster recovery.
In conventional cardiac surgery, the sternum i.e; the bone in the middle of the chest is cut open to access the heart. Healing is delayed and requires the bone incision to heal.
In MICAS, incision is taken below the axilla between two ribs. No bone is cut so healing is faster compared to conventional surgery.

Recovery time varies depending on the type of surgery and the patient’s overall health. Your surgeon will provide specific guidelines tailored to your needs.

Mechanical Valve
Material: Made from durable materials like titanium or carbon.
Lifespan: Very long lasting can last 20+ years or even a lifetime.
Used in: Mostly younger patients who can handle long-term blood thinners.
Requires: Lifelong anticoagulation therapy (e.g., warfarin) to prevent blood clots.. Tissue Valve (Bio prosthetic Valve)
Material: Made from animal tissue (typically pig or cow) or human donor valves.
Lifespan: Lasts about 15–20 years, often less in younger patients.
Used in: Older patients or those who cannot take long-term blood thinners.
Requires: Usually no lifelong blood thinners (only short term).

No need for lifelong anticoagulation, Quieter than mechanical valves.
